The practical refill pack for the Petromax fire piston. With one can of cotton tinder (char rope), the reservoir of the fire piston can be filled about 30 times and is thus sufficient for a total of about 450 ignitions. The tinder is a natural product and consists of pure pyrolyzed cotton rope. This has the advantage that it glows particularly hot and long-lasting. Thus, the embers can be transferred well to start a fireplace.
Petromax cotton tinder is also suitable to carry it in the compact, weatherproof tin can and use a flint to create embers.
The empty tin can also be reused to make cotton tinder.
