Even back then, people appreciated the unique properties of cast iron. With this Dutch oven, Petromax continues this tradition and has also equipped it with a variety of sophisticated details.
Petromax Cast Iron Quality
Thanks to the excellent properties of cast iron and its special surface structure, heat is efficiently stored and transferred. The pre-treated surface (seasoned finish) eliminates the need for an initial seasoning, and the sturdy Dutch oven can be used immediately. Outdoors, it can be used over an open fire or with charcoal and briquettes. The raised rim of the lid allows embers or charcoal to be placed directly on top of the Dutch oven. This heats the Dutch oven from all sides, making it suitable for baking bread, for example.

The Dutch oven features sophisticated details that make it easier to handle and enhance the cooking experience. A sturdy handle allows for safe lifting of the Dutch oven, three feet provide a stable base, and a thermometer port enables you to check the temperature without having to lift the lid. If you want to lift the hot lid, this is particularly easy with the Petromax lid lifter. Another highlight is that the lid can also be used as a pan when turned upside down. Along with all these clever details, the Dutch oven features the classic Petromax design: The lid is adorned with the elegant dragon logo, which has always stood for excellent quality and high-quality products.
